Mix and boil:
2 sticks margarine 1 c. water
Add and mix well:
2 c. flour 2 c. sugar
1/2 t. salt 4 T. cocoa
2 eggs (beaten) 1/2 c. sour cream (or buttermilk
1 t. soda
Pour in sheet pan and bake at 375 for 20-22 minutes
Icing:
Mix and bring to boil:
1 stick margarine 4 T. cocoa
Add and mix well:
1 box powder sugar 1 t. vanilla
6 1/2 T. milk 1 c. nuts
Spread over hot cake
This recipe came from my sister-in-law who was given the recipe by her mother. Her mother has made this “for years.” She wouldn’t (or couldn’t) say how long she has been making it.
