Nut Bread — Sullivan File

Flour 2 1/4 qt.      2 c. sugar
3 1/3 t. B pwd.        1 t. salt
1 c. shortening        3 c. chopped walnuts
1 1/2 c. eggs (6-8)        1 qt. milk
1-=sift dry ingredients together twice.  Cut in shortening; add walnuts; mix
2–Beat eggs, combine with milk.
3–Add to dry ingredients; Stir just enough to blend.
4–Fill greased loaf pans ahlf full.  Let stand 30 minutes.
5–Bake in slow oven (325) for about 1 hour.  2 loaves 91/2×5 1/2×2 3/4 inch.  (38 1/4 inch slices per loaf)
