Mix together flour, salt, soda and cream of tartar.<br \/>\n2. Add milk and mix to a soft dough.<br \/>\n3. Shape into a ball and place on an oiled baking tray.<br \/>\n4. Cut a 2cm(1&#8243;) deep cross onto the top of the dough.<br \/>\n5. Cover the loaf with a deep 7&#8243; (180mm) cake tin.<br \/>\n6. Bake in oven preheated to 220\u00b0C\/425\u00b0F\/Gas Mark 7 for 35mins.<br \/>\n7.
