{"id":428,"date":"2009-09-25T12:58:27","date_gmt":"2009-09-25T17:58:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wesselbest.com\/?p=428"},"modified":"2009-12-14T17:49:30","modified_gmt":"2009-12-14T22:49:30","slug":"oatmeal-bread-beth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/wesselbest.com\/?p=428","title":{"rendered":"Oatmeal Bread  &#8211;  Beth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Makes 2 loaves<\/p>\n<p>350<\/p>\n<p>30-40 minutes<\/p>\n<p>Combine in large bowl<\/p>\n<p>1 c. quick oats<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 c. whole wheat flour<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 c. brown sugar<\/p>\n<p>1 T. salt<\/p>\n<p>2 T. butter<\/p>\n<p>Pour over:<\/p>\n<p>2 c. boiling water<\/p>\n<p>Stir to combine<\/p>\n<p>Dissolve:<\/p>\n<p>1 pkg. dry yeast in 1\/2 c. warm water<\/p>\n<p>When batter is cooled to lukewarm, add yeast:<\/p>\n<p>Stir in 5 c. white flour<\/p>\n<p>When dough is stiff enough to handle, turn onto floured board and<\/p>\n<p>knead 5-10 minutes. Place in greased bowl, cover, and let rise until<\/p>\n<p>doubled. Punch down and let rise again. Shape into 2 loaves and place<\/p>\n<p>in greased 9x5x3 pans. Bake at 350 for 30-40 minutes. Cool on rack<\/p>\n<p>brushing loaves with margarine for a soft crust.<\/p>\n<p>From More-with-less Cookbook<\/p>\n<p>I love this recipe.
