Melt shortening<br \/>\n2. Add both sugars. Blend well.<br \/>\n3. Add beaten egg. Mix<br \/>\n4. Sift salt, cinn. nutmeg, flour and soda twice.<br \/>\n5. Add to creamed mixture and mix.<br \/>\n6. Add chopped nuts.<br \/>\n7. Make into a roll about 2&#8243; in diameter. Wrap roll in waxed paper.<br \/>\n8. Let stand in ice box &#8217;til thoroughly chilled.<br \/>\n9.
