Oatmeal Bread 2 loaves
2 c. boiling water
1 c. rolled oats (instant or rolled)
1/2 c. molasses
2 T. salt
1 T. butter or margarine
1/2 c. luke warm water
1 pkg yeast
5 1/2-6 c. flour
Put water and oats together and let stand 1 hour. Add molasses, salt, butter. Stir. Dissolve yeast in H2O, add to mixture. Add 1 1/2 c. flour and beat at medium speed. Add rest of flour until stiff dough. Knead until elastic, shape into loaves and put in buttered pans. Let rise until almost double. Bake 50 minutes at 350. Freezes well!!
