1 1/2 c. flour 1 1/2 t. baking pwd
1/4 t. salt 1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar 1 egg
1 t. vanilla 1 c. milk
Sauce:
3/4 c. sauce No. 2 can sour red pitted cherries
1/2 c. boiling H2O
Sift flour, measure and resift 3 times with B/P and salt. Cream butter, add sugar and continue creaming. Beat in whole egg. Stir in vanilla. Add sifted ingredients alternately with milk. Turn in greased 9″ pan. Prepare sauce by heating sugar, cherries, jc., and boiling H2O, and pour over batter. Bake 35-45 minutes @ 350. Serve warm with whipped cream.
