1 cup butter
¾ cup brown sugar
1 egg yolk
2 cups flour
Mix and roll in small balls, flatting with fork.  Bake.  Place together with the following icing
CARAMEL ICING
3 tblsp caramel syrup:  (Caramelize ¼ cup sugar, adding a little water
2 tblsp butter, melted
1 ½ cup powdered sugar
½ teasp. Vanilla
Icing should not be cooked but it must be mixed in a double boiler so as to keep it soft.
