1. Fill large sauce pan a little over 1/2 full with water. Add 1 t.
salt and bring to boil.
2. When water comes to a full boil, add 2 c. macaroni (slowly)
and cook uncovered for about 10 minutes or until tender.
3. Make white sauce:
Melt 3 T. butter in skillet over low heat. Add 3 T. flour, 3/4 t. salt,
1/8 t. pepper and stir until smooth. Add 3 1/2 c. milk and bring to
boil, stirring constantly.
4. Drain macaroni and add to white sauce.
5. Add 1 1/4 c. cut up cheese.
6. Butter baking dish and pour mixture in.
7. Crumble crackers and put on top. Dot with butter.
8. Bake 40 minutes @ 350.
