1t – salt
2c – macaroni
3T – butter
3T – flour
3/4t – salt
1/8t – pepper
3 1/2C – milk
1 1/4C – cheese
Saltine Crackers
1. Fill large sauce pan a little over 1/2 full with water. Add 1 t. salt and bring to boil.
2. When water comes to a full boil, add 2 c. macaroni (slowly) and cook uncovered for about 10 minutes or until tender.
3. Make white sauce:
Melt in skillet over low heat :
3 T. butter
3 T. flour
3/4 t. salt
1/8 t. pepper
stir until smooth.
Add 3 1/2 c. milk
bring to boil, stirring constantly.
4. Drain macaroni and add to white sauce.
5. Add 1 1/4 c. cut up cheese.
6. Butter baking dish and pour mixture in.
7. Crumble crackers and put on top. Dot with butter.
8. Bake 40 minutes @ 350.
