1 c. white sugar
2 c. flour
1/2 c. oleo
1/2 t. cinnamon
1 egg 1/2 t. cloves
1 1/2 c. applesauce
1/2 t. nutmeg
1 c. dates, cut
2 t. soda
nuts (optional) salt
Bake in jelly roll pan 350–20 minutes. Frost with powdered sugar frosting or with proceeding frosting.
Frosting
1 lb powdered sugar
1 small cube cream cheese
1 stick oleo
Will frost 2 layer cake plus filling. May use part of frosting and freeze remainder for later use.
