Cream:
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. br. sugar
Blend in:
2 eggs yolks
1 t. vanilla
Add:
3 T. cold water alternately with:
Sifted:
2 c. flour
2 t. baking pwd.
1 t. soda
1/2 t. salt
Dough will be stiff.
Press dough into 2 greased and floured 8x8x2 pans.
Sprinkle 1 pkg. semi-sweet chips and press. Beat 2 egg whites till foamy. Add 1 c. br. sugar–beat til stiff–spread over chips. Top with 3/4 c. salted peanuts. Bake 325 for 30-35 minutes. Cut while warm.
