Sift together:
1 3/4 c. flour
1 t. soda
1/2 t. salt
Cream together:
1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
Add 1 egg and 1 t. vanilla. Blend in dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly. Shape in small balls. (approx. 1 t. dough to each). Roll balls in sugar. Do not flatten. Bake 10 minutes. Remove from oven and top with chocolate star. (Press firmly so cookies will crack. Return to oven and bake 2-5 minutes more.
