1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg, beaten
1 t. vanilla
2 oz unsweetened choc. melted
1/4 t. maple flavoring
Mix above in order given. Then sift and add alternately with 1/2 c. milk–1/2 t. soda. 1/2 t. salt, 1 2/3 c. flour.
Drop on cookie sheet and bake 9-10 minutes in a moderate oven (375). Remove from oven and place a small marshmallow on each one immediately.
When cool, frost with:
3 c. pwd sugar
6 T. cocoa
6 T. hot coffee
6 T. butter
1 t. vanilla
