2 c. shortening (hydrogenated)
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
4 eggs
1 t. salt
1 1/2 t cinn.
1/2 t. nutmeg
7 c. flour
1 t. soda
1 c. walnuts.
1. Melt shortening
2. Add both sugars. Blend well.
3. Add beaten egg. Mix
4. Sift salt, cinn. nutmeg, flour and soda twice.
5. Add to creamed mixture and mix.
6. Add chopped nuts.
7. Make into a roll about 2″ in diameter. Wrap roll in waxed paper.
8. Let stand in ice box ’til thoroughly chilled.
9. Slice thinly and bake at 375 until golden brown.
