200 and simmer 45 minutes
1 T. shortening
1 1/2 lb ground beef
1/2 lb ground pork
3/4 c. rolled cracker crumbs
1/2 c. finely chopped onion
1 egg–beaten
1/4 t. pepper
2 t. salt
1/2 c. canned tomatoes
3/4 c. canned tomatoes
1 green pepper ring
6 potatoes–peeled
6 carrots–peeled and cut in half lengthwise.
Rub shortening into fry pan. Mix beef, pork, cracker crumbs, onion, egg seasons and the 1/2 c. tomatoes. Form into a cake shaped loaf 6 or 7 inch in diameter. Place in center of pan. Top with 3/4 c. tomatoes and green pepper. Arrange pot. and carrots around meat. Cover. Sest dial @ 200 and simmer till veg. are tender.
